Romans 4

English: What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, has found?

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ പൂർവ്വപിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം ജഡപ്രകാരം എന്തു പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു പറയേണ്ടു?

English: For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not before God.

Malayalam: അബ്രാഹാം പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എങ്കിൽ അവന്നു പ്രശംസിപ്പാൻ സംഗതി ഉണ്ടു; ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഇല്ലതാനും,

English: For what says the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Malayalam: തിരുവെഴുത്തു എന്തു പറയുന്നു? “അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു” എന്നു തന്നേ.

English: Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവന്നു കൂലി കണക്കിടുന്നതു കൃപയായിട്ടല്ല കടമായിട്ടത്രേ.

English: But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Malayalam: പ്രവർത്തിക്കാത്തവൻ എങ്കിലും അഭക്തനെ നിതീകരിക്കുന്നവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നോ അവന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുന്നു.

English: Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputes righteousness without works,

Malayalam: ദൈവം പ്രവൃത്തിക്കുടാതെ നീതികണക്കിടുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഭാഗ്യം ദാവീദും വർണ്ണിക്കുന്നതു:

English: Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Malayalam: “അധർമ്മം മോചിച്ചും പാപം മറെച്ചും കിട്ടിയവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

English: Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Malayalam: കർത്താവു പാപം കണക്കിടാത്ത മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.”

English: Comes this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

Malayalam: ഈ ഭാഗ്യവർണ്ണനം പരിച്ഛേദനെക്കോ? അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തിന്നു കൂടെയോ? അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു വിശ്വാസം നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു എന്നല്ലോ നാം പറയുന്നതു.

English: How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

Malayalam: എങ്ങനെ കണക്കിട്ടതു? പരിച്ഛേദനയിലോ? അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തിലോ? പരിച്ഛേദനയിലല്ല. അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തിലത്രേ.

English: And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

Malayalam: അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തിൽവെച്ചു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു വിശ്വാസനീതിക്കു മുദ്രയായി പരിച്ഛേദന എന്ന അടയാളം അവന്നു ലഭിച്ചതു അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തോട വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവർക്കും കൂടെ നീതി കണക്കിടപ്പെടുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം താൻ അവർക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും പിതാവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

English: And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Malayalam: പരിച്ഛേദന മാത്രമുള്ളവരല്ല നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തിൽവെച്ചു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വിശ്വാസത്തെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവരുമായ പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാർക്കു പിതാവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

English: For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Malayalam: ലോകാവകാശി ആകും എന്നുള്ള വാഗ്ദത്തം അബ്രാഹാമിന്നോ അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കോ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താലല്ല വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ നീതിയാലല്ലോ ലഭിച്ചതു.

English: For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of no effect:

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണമുള്ളവർ അവകാശികൾ എങ്കിൽ വിശ്വാസം വ്യർത്ഥവും വാഗ്ദത്തം ദുർബ്ബലവും എന്നു വരും.

English: Because the law works wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Malayalam: ന്യായപ്രമാണമോ കോപത്തിന്നു ഹേതുവാകുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഇല്ലാത്തേടത്തു ലംഘനവുമില്ല.

English: Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു കൃപാദാനം എന്നു വരേണ്ടതിന്നു വിശ്വാസത്താലത്രേ അവകാശികൾ ആകുന്നതു; വാഗ്ദത്തം സകലസന്തതിക്കും, ന്യായപ്രമാണമുള്ളവർക്കു മാത്രമല്ല, അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ വിശ്വാസമുള്ളവർക്കും കൂടെ ഉറപ്പാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നെ.

English: (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who replenishes life to the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.

Malayalam: മരിച്ചവരെ ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനെ ഉള്ളതിനെപ്പോലെ വിളിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവനായി താൻ വിശ്വസിച്ച ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ അവൻ നമുക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും പിതാവാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. “ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ബഹുജാതികൾക്കു പിതാവാക്കിവെച്ചു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall your seed be.

Malayalam: “നിന്റെ സന്തതി ഇവ്വണ്ണം ആകും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ താൻ ബഹുജാതികൾക്കു പിതാവാകും എന്നു അവൻ ആശെക്കു വിരോധമായി ആശയോടെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

English: And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

Malayalam: അവൻ ഏകദേശം നൂറു വയസ്സുള്ളവനാകയാൽ തന്റെ ശരീരം നിർജ്ജീവമായിപ്പോയതും സാറയുടെ ഗർഭപാത്രത്തിന്റെ നിർജ്ജീവത്വവും ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടും വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ ക്ഷീണിച്ചില്ല.

English: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Malayalam: ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വാഗ്ദത്തത്തിങ്കൽ അവിശ്വാസത്താൽ സംശയിക്കാതെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ ശക്തിപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുത്തു,

English: And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Malayalam: അവൻ വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതു പ്രവർത്തിപ്പാനും ശക്തൻ എന്നു പൂർണ്ണമായി ഉറെച്ചു.

English: And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു.

English: Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

Malayalam: അവന്നു കണക്കിട്ടു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു അവനെ വിചാരിച്ചു മാത്രം അല്ല,

English: But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Malayalam: നമ്മെ വിചാരിച്ചുംകൂടെ ആകുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങൾ നിമിത്തം മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചും നമ്മുടെ നീതീകരണത്തിന്നായി ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്ന

English: Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Malayalam: നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിനെ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഉയർപ്പിച്ചവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നമുക്കും കണക്കിടുവാനുള്ളതാകയാൽ തന്നേ.
