Proverbs 4

English: Hear, all of you children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

Malayalam: മക്കളേ, അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം കേട്ടു വിവേകം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ.

English: For I give you good doctrine, forsake all of you not my law.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സൽബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുന്നു; എന്റെ ഉപദേശം നിങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുതു.

English: For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ എന്റെ അപ്പന്നു മകനും എന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു ഓമനയും ഏകപുത്രനും ആയിരുന്നു;

English: He taught me also, and said unto me, Let yours heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Malayalam: അവൻ എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു, എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊൾക; എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു ജീവിക്ക.

English: Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനം സമ്പാദിക്ക: വിവേകം നേടുക; മറക്കരുതു; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയുമരുതു.

English: Forsake her not, and she shall preserve you: love her, and she shall keep you.

Malayalam: അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുതു; അതു നിന്നെ കാക്കും; അതിൽ പ്രിയം വെക്കുക; അതു നിന്നെ സൂക്ഷിക്കും;

English: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനംതന്നേ പ്രധാനം; ജ്ഞാനം സമ്പാദിക്ക; നിന്റെ സകലസമ്പാദ്യത്താലും വിവേകം നേടുക.

English: Exalt her, and she shall promote you: she shall bring you to honour, when you do embrace her.

Malayalam: അതിനെ ഉയർത്തുക; അതു നിന്നെ ഉയർത്തും; അതിനെ ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്താൽ അതു നിനക്കു മാനം വരുത്തും.

English: She shall give to yours head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to you.

Malayalam: അതു നിന്റെ തലയെ അലങ്കാരമാല അണിയിക്കും; അതു നിന്നെ ഒരു മഹത്വകിരീടം ചൂടിക്കും.

English: Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of your life shall be many.

Malayalam: മകനേ കേട്ടു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊൾക; എന്നാൽ നിനക്കു ദീർഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകും.

English: I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു: നേരെയുള്ള പാതയിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നടത്തുന്നു.

English: When you go, your steps shall not be straitened; and when you run, you shall not stumble.

Malayalam: നടക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ കാലടിക്കു ഇടുക്കം വരികയില്ല; ഓടുമ്പോൾ നീ ഇടറുകയുമില്ല.

English: Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is your life.

Malayalam: പ്രബോധനം മുറുകെ പിടിക്ക; വിട്ടുകളയരുതു; അതിനെ കാത്തുകൊൾക, അതു നിന്റെ ജീവനല്ലോ.

English: Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പാതയിൽ നീ ചെല്ലരുതു; ദുർജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടക്കയുമരുതു;

English: Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

Malayalam: അതിനോടു അകന്നുനിൽക്ക; അതിൽ നടക്കരുതു; അതു വിട്ടുമാറി കടന്നുപോക.

English: For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

Malayalam: അവർ ദോഷം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഉറങ്ങുകയില്ല; വല്ലവരെയും വീഴിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ അവർക്കു ഉറക്കം വരികയില്ല.

English: For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടതയുടെ ആഹാരംകൊണ്ടു അവർ ഉപജീവിക്കുന്നു; ബലാൽക്കാരത്തിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞു അവർ പാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.

Malayalam: നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതയോ പ്രഭാതത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചംപോലെ; അതു നട്ടുച്ചവരെ അധികമധികം ശോഭിച്ചു വരുന്നു.

English: The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെവഴി അന്ധകാരംപോലെയാകുന്നു; ഏതിങ്കൽ തട്ടി വീഴും എന്നു അവർ അറിയുന്നില്ല.

English: My son, attend to my words; incline yours ear unto my sayings.

Malayalam: മകനേ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾക്കു ശ്രദ്ധതരിക; എന്റെ മൊഴികൾക്കു നിന്റെ ചെവി ചായിക്ക.

English: Let them not depart from yours eyes; keep them in the midst of yours heart.

Malayalam: അവ നിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽനിന്നു മാറിപ്പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽ അവയെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കുക.

English: For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Malayalam: അവയെ കിട്ടുന്നവർക്കു അവ ജീവനും അവരുടെ സർവ്വദേഹത്തിന്നും സൌഖ്യവും ആകുന്നു.

English: Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Malayalam: സകലജാഗ്രതയോടുംകൂടെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ കാത്തുകൊൾക; ജീവന്റെ ഉത്ഭവം അതിൽനിന്നല്ലോ ആകുന്നതു.

English: Put away from you a perverse mouth, and perverse lips put far from you.

Malayalam: വായുടെ വക്രത നിങ്കൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളക; അധരങ്ങളുടെ വികടം നിങ്കൽനിന്നകറ്റുക.

English: Let yours eyes look right on, and let yours eyelids look straight before you.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നേരെ നോക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ കണ്ണിമ ചൊവ്വെ മുമ്പോട്ടു മിഴിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ കാലുകളുടെ പാതയെ നിരപ്പാക്കുക; നിന്റെ വഴികളെല്ലാം സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove your foot from evil.

Malayalam: ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയരുതു; നിന്റെ കാലിനെ ദോഷം വിട്ടകലുമാറാക്കുക.
