Proverbs 14

English: Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.

Malayalam: സ്ത്രീകളിൽ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവൾ തന്റെ വീടു പണിയുന്നു; ഭോഷത്വമുള്ളവളോ അതു സ്വന്തകൈകളാൽ പൊളിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

English: He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.

Malayalam: നേരായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ യഹോവാഭക്തൻ; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ അവനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

English: In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Malayalam: ഭോഷന്റെവായിൽ ഡംഭത്തിന്റെ വടിയുണ്ടു; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങളോ അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

English: Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Malayalam: കാളകൾ ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു തൊഴുത്തു വെടിപ്പുള്ളതു; കാളയുടെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ വളരെ ആദായം ഉണ്ടു.

English: A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Malayalam: വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷി ഭോഷ്കു പറകയില്ല; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയോ ഭോഷ്കു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

English: A scorner seeks wisdom, and finds it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understands.

Malayalam: പരിഹാസി ജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; വിവേകമുള്ളവന്നോ പരിജ്ഞാനം എളുപ്പം.

English: Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge.

Malayalam: മൂഢന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു മാറിപ്പോക; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങൾ നീ അവനിൽ കാണുകയില്ല.

English: The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Malayalam: വഴി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതു വിവേകിയുടെ ജ്ഞാനം; ചതിക്കുന്നതോ ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വം.

English: Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Malayalam: ഭോഷന്മാരെ അകൃത്യയാഗം പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു. നേരുള്ളവർക്കോ തമ്മിൽ പ്രീതി ഉണ്ടു.

English: The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.

Malayalam: ഹൃദയം സ്വന്തദുഃഖത്തെ അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിലും അന്യൻ ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല.

English: The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വീടു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; നീതിമാന്റെ കൂടാരമോ തഴെക്കും.

English: There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Malayalam: ചിലപ്പോൾ ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നും; അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികൾ അത്രേ.

English: Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that delight is heaviness.

Malayalam: ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേയും ഹൃദയം ദുഃഖിച്ചിരിക്കാം; സന്തോഷത്തിന്റെ അവസാനം ദുഃഖമാകയുമാം.

English: The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Malayalam: ഹൃദയത്തിൽ വിശ്വാസത്യാഗമുള്ളവന്നു തന്റെ നടപ്പിൽ മടുപ്പുവരും; നല്ല മനുഷ്യനോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ തന്നേ തൃപ്തിവരും.

English: The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.

Malayalam: അല്പബുദ്ധി ഏതു വാക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയോ തന്റെ നടപ്പു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

English: A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷനോ ധിക്കാരംപൂണ്ടു നിർഭയനായി നടക്കുന്നു.

English: He that is soon angry deals foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Malayalam: മുൻകോപി ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. ദുരുപായി ദ്വേഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Malayalam: അല്പബുദ്ധികൾ ഭോഷത്വം അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധികളോ പരിജ്ഞാനം അണിയുന്നു.

English: The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Malayalam: ദുർജ്ജനം സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലും ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ വാതിൽക്കലും വണങ്ങിനില്ക്കുന്നു.

English: The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich has many friends.

Malayalam: ദരിദ്രനെ കൂട്ടുകാരൻ പോലും പകെക്കുന്നു; ധനവാന്നോ വളരെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ ഉണ്ടു.

English: He that despises his neighbour sins: but he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Malayalam: കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവൻ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; എളിയവരോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.

English: Do they not go astray that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Malayalam: ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവർ ഉഴന്നുപോകുന്നില്ലയോ? നന്മ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവർക്കോ ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ലഭിക്കുന്നു.

English: In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tends only to destitution.

Malayalam: എല്ലാ തൊഴിലുംകൊണ്ടു ലാഭം വരും; അധരചർവ്വണംകൊണ്ടോ ഞെരുക്കമേ വരു.

English: The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ ധനം അവർക്കു കിരീടം; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നെ.

English: A true witness delivers souls: but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Malayalam: സത്യസാക്ഷി പ്രാണരക്ഷ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭോഷ്കു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനോ വഞ്ചന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Malayalam: യഹോവാഭക്തന്നു ദൃഢധൈര്യം ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മക്കൾക്കും ശരണം ഉണ്ടാകും.

English: The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Malayalam: യഹോവാഭക്തി ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു; അതിനാൽ മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

English: In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.

Malayalam: പ്രജാബാഹുല്യം രാജാവിന്നു ബഹുമാനം; പ്രജാന്യൂനതയോ പ്രഭുവിന്നു നാശം.

English: He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

Malayalam: ദീർഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവൻ മഹാബുദ്ധിമാൻ; മുൻകോപിയോ ഭോഷത്വം ഉയർത്തുന്നു.

English: A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Malayalam: ശാന്തമനസ്സു ദേഹത്തിന്നു ജീവൻ; അസൂയയോ അസ്തികൾക്കു ദ്രവത്വം.

English: He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he that honors him has mercy on the poor.

Malayalam: എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അവന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ അവനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു.

English: The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്നു തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാൽ വീഴ്ച വരുന്നു; നീതിമാന്നോ മരണത്തിലും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

English: Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

Malayalam: വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ജ്ഞാനം അടങ്ങിപ്പാർക്കുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ അന്തരംഗത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതോ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

English: Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Malayalam: നീതി ജാതിയെ ഉയർത്തുന്നു; പാപമോ വംശങ്ങൾക്കു അപമാനം.

English: The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame.

Malayalam: ബുദ്ധിമാനായ ദാസന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു. നാണംകെട്ടവന്നോ അവന്റെ കോപം നേരിടും.
