Luke 2

English: And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

Malayalam: ആ കാലത്തു ലോകം ഒക്കെയും പേർവഴി ചാർത്തേണം എന്നു ഓഗുസ്തൊസ് കൈസരുടെ ഒരു ആജ്ഞ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

English: (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

Malayalam: കുറേന്യൊസ് സുറിയനാടു വാഴുമ്പോൾ ഈ ഒന്നാമത്തെ ചാർത്തൽ ഉണ്ടായി.

English: And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

Malayalam: എല്ലാവരും ചാർത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു താന്താന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി.

English: And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫും ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിലും കുലത്തിലും ഉള്ളവൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു തനിക്കു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന മറിയ എന്ന ഗർഭിണിയായ ഭാര്യയോടും കൂടെ ചാർത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറത്ത് പട്ടണം വിട്ടു,

English: To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

Malayalam: യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ബേത്ളേഹെം എന്ന ദാവീദിൻ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

English: And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

Malayalam: അവർ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൾക്കു പ്രസവത്തിനുള്ള കാലം തികെഞ്ഞു.

English: And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a crib; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Malayalam: അവൾ ആദ്യജാതനായ മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു, ശീലകൾ ചുറ്റി വഴിയമ്പലത്തിൽ അവർക്കു സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടത്തി.

English: And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Malayalam: അന്നു ആ പ്രദേശത്തു ഇടയന്മാർ രാത്രിയിൽ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ കാവൽകാത്തു വെളിയിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്നു.

English: And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ഒരു ദൂതൻ അവരുടെ അരികെ നിന്നു, കർത്താവിന്റെ തേജസ്സ് അവരെ ചുറ്റിമിന്നി, അവർ ഭയപരവശരായിതീർന്നു.

English: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Malayalam: ദൂതൻ അവരോടു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും ഉണ്ടാവാനുള്ളോരു മഹാസന്തോഷം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷിക്കുന്നു.

English: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Malayalam: കർത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന രക്ഷിതാവു ഇന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: And this shall be a sign unto you; All of you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a crib.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾക്കു അടയാളമോ; ശീലകൾ ചുറ്റി പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ നിങ്ങൾ കാണും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Malayalam: പെട്ടെന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗീയ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ ഒരു സംഘം ദൂതനോടു ചേർന്നു ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി.

English: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Malayalam: “അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം; ഭൂമിയിൽ ദൈവപ്രസാദമുള്ള മനുഷ്യർക്കു സമാധാനം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which has come to pass, which the Lord has made known unto us.

Malayalam: ദൂതന്മാർ അവരെ വിട്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ പോയശേഷം ഇടയന്മാർ: നാം ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമോളം ചെന്നു കർത്താവു നമ്മോടു അറിയിച്ച ഈ സംഭവം കാണേണം എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a crib.

Malayalam: അവർ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു, മറിയയെയും യോസേഫിനെയും പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ശിശുവിനെയും കണ്ടു.

English: And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

Malayalam: കണ്ടശേഷം ഈ പൈതലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു അറിയിച്ചു.

English: And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Malayalam: കേട്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും ഇടയന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

English: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Malayalam: മറിയ ഈ വാർത്ത ഒക്കെയും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു ധ്യാനിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Malayalam: തങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇടയന്മാർ കേട്ടതും കണ്ടതുമായ എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും കുറിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയും പുകഴ്ത്തിയും കൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

English: And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Malayalam: പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിപ്പാനുള്ള എട്ടു ദിവസം തികെഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉല്പാദിക്കുംമുമ്പെ ദൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ അവന്നു യേശു എന്നു പേർ വിളിച്ചു.

English: And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

Malayalam: മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം അവളുടെ ശുദ്ധീകരണകാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ

English: (As it is written in the law of the LORD, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

Malayalam: കടിഞ്ഞൂലായ ആണൊക്കെയും കർത്താവിന്നു വിശുദ്ധം ആയിരിക്കേണം എന്നു കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ

English: And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

Malayalam: അവനെ കർത്താവിന്നു അർപ്പിപ്പാനും ഒരു ഇണ കുറപ്രാവിനെയോ രണ്ടു പ്രാകൂഞ്ഞിനെയോ കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാനും അവർ അവനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

English: And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

Malayalam: യെരൂശലേമിൽ ശിമ്യോൻ എന്നു പേരുള്ളൊരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ നീതിമാനും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരുന്നു; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവും അവന്റെ മേൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

Malayalam: കർത്താവിന്റെ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ കാണുംമുമ്പെ മരണം കാണ്കയില്ല എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ അവന്നു അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

Malayalam: അവൻ ആത്മനിയോഗത്താൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു. യേശു എന്ന പൈതലിന്നു വേണ്ടി ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ ചട്ടപ്രകാരം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർ അവനെ അകത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നപ്പോൾ

English: Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

Malayalam: അവൻ അവനെ കയ്യിൽ ഏന്തി ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി:

English: Lord, now let you your servant depart in peace, according to your word:

Malayalam: “ഇപ്പോൾ നാഥാ തിരുവചനം പോലെ നീ അടിയനെ സമാധാനത്തോടെ വിട്ടയക്കുന്നു.

English: For mine eyes have seen your salvation,

Malayalam: ജാതികൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള പ്രകാശവും നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മഹത്വവുമായി

English: Which you have prepared before the face of all people;

Malayalam: നീ സകല ജാതികളുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ രക്ഷയെ

English: A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.

Malayalam: എന്റെ കണ്ണു കണ്ടുവല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതിൽ അവന്റെ അപ്പനും അമ്മയും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

English: And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ശിമ്യോൻ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവന്റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയയോടു: അനേകഹൃദയങ്ങളിലെ വിചാരം വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇവനെ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പലരുടെയും വീഴ്ചെയക്കും എഴുന്നേല്പിന്നും മറുത്തുപറയുന്ന അടയാളത്തിന്നുമായി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനിൽകൂടിയും ഒരു വാൾ കടക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

Malayalam: ആശേർ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഫനൂവേലിന്റെ മകളായ ഹന്നാ എന്നൊരു പ്രവാചകി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ കന്യാകാലത്തിൽ പിന്നെ ഭർത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ ഏഴു സംവത്സരം കഴിച്ചു എണ്പത്തുനാലു സംവത്സരം വിധവയും വളരെ വയസ്സു ചെന്നവളുമായി

English: And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

Malayalam: ദൈവാലയം വിട്ടു പിരിയാതെ ഉപവാസത്തോടും പ്രാർത്ഥനയോടും കൂടെ രാവും പകലും ആരാധന ചെയ്തു പോന്നു.

English: And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Malayalam: ആ നാഴികയിൽ അവളും അടുത്തുനിന്നു ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചു, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിനെ കാത്തിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

English: And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Malayalam: കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ കല്പിച്ചുരിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നിവർത്തിച്ചശേഷം അവർ ഗലീലയിൽ തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണമായ നസറത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

English: And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Malayalam: പൈതൽ വളർന്നു ജ്ഞാനം നിറഞ്ഞു, ആത്മാവിൽ ബലപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നു; ദൈവകൃപയും അവന്മേൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർ ആണ്ടുതോറും പെസഹപെരുനാളിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകും.

English: And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

Malayalam: അവന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവർ പതിവുപോലെ പെരുനാളിന്നു പോയി.

English: And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

Malayalam: പെരുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരുമ്പോൾ ബാലനായ യേശു യെരൂശലേമിൽ താമസിച്ചു; അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

English: But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

Malayalam: സഹയാത്രക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും എന്നു അവർ ഊഹിച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി പോന്നു; പിന്നെ അവനെ ബന്ധുക്കളുടെയും പരിചയക്കാരുടെയും ഇടയിൽ തിരഞ്ഞു.

English: And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

Malayalam: കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

English: And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Malayalam: മൂന്നു നാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും അവരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേൾക്കയും അവരോടു ചോദിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

English: And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും അവന്റെ വിവേകത്തിലും ഉത്തരങ്ങളിലും വിസ്മയം തോന്നി. അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവർ അതിശയിച്ചു;

English: And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why have you thus dealt with us? behold, your father and I have sought you sorrowing.

Malayalam: അമ്മ അവനോടു: മകനേ, ഞങ്ങളോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ അപ്പനും ഞാനും വ്യസനിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said unto them, How is it that all of you sought me? know all of you not that I must be about my Father's business?

Malayalam: അവൻ അവരോടു: “എന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞതു എന്തിന്നു? എന്റെ പിതാവിന്നുള്ളതിൽ ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ.” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they understood not the saying which he spoke unto them.

Malayalam: അവൻ തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.

English: And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇറങ്ങി, നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു അവർക്കു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ അമ്മ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

English: And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Malayalam: യേശുവോ ജ്ഞാനത്തിലും വളർച്ചയിലും ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും മനുഷ്യരുടെയും കൃപയിലും മുതിർന്നു വന്നു.
