Jeremiah 2

English: Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Malayalam: യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of yours espousals, when you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Malayalam: നീ ചെന്നു യെരൂശലേം കേൾക്കെ വിളിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു; യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ, വിതെക്കാത്ത ദേശത്തു തന്നേ, നീ എന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചു നടന്ന നിന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭക്തിയും വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ച കാലത്തിലെ സ്നേഹവും ഞാൻ ഓർക്കുന്നു.

English: Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the first-fruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, says the LORD.

Malayalam: യിസ്രായേൽ യഹോവെക്കു വിശുദ്ധവും അവന്റെ വിളവിന്റെ ആദ്യഫലവും ആകുന്നു; അവനെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നവരൊക്കെയും കുറ്റക്കാരായ്തീരും; അവർക്കു ദോഷം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും എന്നായിരുന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: Hear all of you the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹവും യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളും ആയുള്ളോരേ, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ.

English: Thus says the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

Malayalam: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എന്നെ വിട്ടകന്നു മിത്ഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളോടു ചേർന്നു വ്യർത്ഥന്മാർ ആയിത്തീരുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവർ എന്നിൽ എന്തൊരു അന്യായം കണ്ടു?

English: Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു, പാഴ്നിലവും കുഴികളും ഉള്ള ദേശമായി വരൾചയും കൂരിരുളും ഉള്ള ദേശമായി മനുഷ്യസഞ്ചാരമോ ആൾപാർപ്പോ ഇല്ലാത്ത ദേശമായ മരുഭൂമിയിൽകൂടി ഞങ്ങളെ നടത്തി കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവ എവിടെ എന്നു അവർ ചോദിച്ചില്ല.

English: And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when all of you entered, all of you defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഫലവത്തായോരു ദേശത്തു അതിന്റെ ഫലവും ഗുണവും അനുഭവിപ്പാൻ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവിടെ എത്തിയ ശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ദേശത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി എന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ അറെപ്പാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

English: The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

Malayalam: യഹോവ എവിടെ എന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാർ അന്വേഷിച്ചില്ല; ന്യായപ്രമാണജ്ഞന്മാർ എന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; ഇടയന്മാർ എന്നോടു അതിക്രമം ചെയ്തു: പ്രവാചകന്മാർ ബാൽമുഖാന്തരം പ്രവചിച്ചു, പ്രയോജനമില്ലാത്തവയോടു ചേർന്നുനടന്നു.

English: Wherefore I will yet plead with you, says the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇനിയും നിങ്ങളോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളുടെ മക്കളോടും ഞാൻ വ്യവഹരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ കിത്തീയരുടെ ദ്വീപുകളിലേക്കു കടന്നുചെന്നു നോക്കുവിൻ; കേദാരിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു നല്ലവണ്ണം അന്വേഷിച്ചു, ഇതുപോലെ സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്നു നോക്കുവിൻ.

English: Has a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.

Malayalam: ഒരു ജാതി തന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ മാറ്റീട്ടുണ്ടോ? അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ലതാനും; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ജനം തന്റെ മഹത്വമായവനെ പ്രയോജനമില്ലാത്തതിന്നു പകരം മാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Be astonished, O all of you heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be all of you very desolate, says the LORD.

Malayalam: ആകാശമേ, ഇതിങ്കൽ വിസ്മയിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഏറ്റവും സ്തംഭിച്ചുപോക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Malayalam: എന്റെ ജനം രണ്ടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു: അവർ ജീവജലത്തിന്റെ ഉറവായ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത കിണറുകളെ, പൊട്ടക്കിണറുകളെ തന്നേ, കുഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Is Israel a servant? is he a native slave? why is he spoiled?

Malayalam: യിസ്രായേൽ ദാസനോ? വീട്ടിൽ പിറന്ന അടിമയോ? അവൻ കവർച്ചയായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?

English: The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

Malayalam: ബാലസിംഹങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ നേരെ അലറി നാദം കേൾപ്പിച്ചു അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കി; അവന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ വെന്തു നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of your head.

Malayalam: നോഫ്യരും തഹ്പനേസ്യരും നിന്റെ നെറുകയെ തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Have you not procured this unto yourself, in that you have forsaken the LORD your God, when he led you by the way?

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ വഴിനടത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കകൊണ്ടല്ലയോ നീ ഇതു സമ്പാദിച്ചതു?

English: And now what have you to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what have you to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

Malayalam: ഇപ്പോഴോ, മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര എന്തിന്നു? ശീഹോരിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാനോ? അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര എന്തിന്നു? ആ നദിയിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാനോ?

English: Yours own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord GOD of hosts.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത തന്നേ നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷയും നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസത്യാഗങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു ദണ്ഡനവുമാകും; അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചതും എന്റെ ഭയം നിനക്കു ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എത്ര ദോഷവും കൈപ്പും ആയുള്ളതെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു കണ്ടുകൊൾക എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: For of old time I have broken your yoke, and burst your bands; and you said, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree you wander, playing the harlot.

Malayalam: പണ്ടു തന്നേ നീ നുകം തകർത്തു നിന്റെ കയറു പൊട്ടിച്ചു: ഞാൻ അടിമവേല ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉയർന്ന കുന്നിന്മേൽ ഒക്കെയും പച്ചയായ വൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴൊക്കെയും നീ വേശ്യയായി കിടന്നു.

English: Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then are you turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

Malayalam: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിശിഷ്ടമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയായി, നല്ല തൈയായി തന്നേ നട്ടിരിക്കെ നീ എനിക്കു കാട്ടുമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ തൈയായ്തീർന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

English: For though you wash you with alkali, and take you much soap, yet yours iniquity is marked before me, says the Lord GOD.

Malayalam: നീ ധാരാളം ചവർക്കാരം തേച്ചു ചാരവെള്ളംകൊണ്ടു കഴുകിയാലും നിന്റെ അകൃത്യം എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: How can you say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: you are a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

Malayalam: ഞാൻ മലിനയായിട്ടില്ല; ഞാൻ ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളോടു ചെന്നു ചേർന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നു നിനക്കു എങ്ങനെ പറയാം? താഴ്വരയിലെ നിന്റെ നടപ്പു വിചാരിക്ക; നീ ചെയ്തതു ഓർക്കുക; വഴിയിൽ അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും വിരെഞ്ഞോടുന്ന പെണ്ണൊട്ടകമല്ലയോ നീ?

English: A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffs up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

Malayalam: നീ മരുഭൂമി ശീലിച്ചു അതിമോഹം പൂണ്ടു കിഴെക്കുന്ന കാട്ടു കഴുത തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ മദപ്പാടിൽ അതിനെ തടുക്കാകുന്നവൻ ആർ? ആരും അതിനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു തളരുകയില്ല; അതിന്റെ മാസത്തിൽ അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തും;

English: Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst: but you said, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

Malayalam: ചെരിപ്പു ഊരിപ്പോകാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ കാലും രണ്ടു പോകാതവണ്ണം തൊണ്ടയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക; നീയോ അതു വെറുതെ; അങ്ങനെയല്ല; ഞാൻ അന്യന്മാരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഞാൻ പോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets.

Malayalam: കള്ളനെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; അവരും അവരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും തന്നേ.

English: Saying to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You have brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

Malayalam: അവർ മരത്തോടു: നീ എന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നും കല്ലിനോടു: നീ എന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ചവൾ എന്നും പറയുന്നു; അവർ മുഖമല്ല മുതുകത്രേ എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു; എന്നാൽ കഷ്ടകാലത്തു അവർ: നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറയും.

English: But where are your gods that you have made you? let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

Malayalam: നീ ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടുള്ള നിന്റെ ദേവന്മാർ എവിടെ? കഷ്ടകാലത്തു നിന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിവുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവർ എഴുന്നേൽക്കട്ടെ; അയ്യോ യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്കു ദേവന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ!

English: Wherefore will all of you plead with me? all of you all have transgressed against me, says the LORD.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു വാദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും എന്നോടു ദ്രോഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ അടിച്ചതു വ്യർത്ഥം; അവർ ബുദ്ധി പഠിച്ചില്ല; നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാൾ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

English: O generation, see all of you the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto you?

Malayalam: ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ തലമുറയായുള്ളോവേ, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേൾപ്പിൻ; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഒരു മരുഭൂമി ആയിരുന്നുവോ? അന്ധകാരപ്രദേശമായിരുന്നുവോ? ഞങ്ങൾ കെട്ടഴിഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വിരകയില്ല എന്നു എന്റെ ജനം പറയുന്നതു എന്തു?

English: Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

Malayalam: ഒരു കന്യക തന്റെ ആഭരണങ്ങളും ഒരു മണവാട്ടി തന്റെ അരക്കച്ചയും മറക്കുമോ? എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ജനം എണ്ണമില്ലാത്ത നാളായി എന്നെ മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Why trim you your way to seek love? therefore have you also taught the wicked ones your ways.

Malayalam: പ്രേമം അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്റെ വഴി എത്ര ചേലാക്കുന്നു! അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തികളെയും നിന്റെ വഴികൾ അഭ്യസപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Also in your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocent persons: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ഉടുപ്പിന്റെ വിളുമ്പിലും കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത സാധുക്കളുടെ രക്തം കാണുന്നു; ഭവന ഭേദനത്തിലല്ല നീ അവരെ പിടിച്ചതു. ഇവയെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ ന്യായവാദം കഴിക്കും.

English: Yet you says, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with you, because you says, I have not sinned.

Malayalam: നീയോ: ഞാൻ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൾ; അവന്റെ കോപം എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഞാൻ പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു നീ പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കും.

English: Why arm you about so much to change your way? you also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ വഴിയെ മാറ്റേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇത്ര തെണ്ടിനടക്കുന്നതെന്തു? അശ്ശൂരിങ്കൽ നീ ലജ്ജിച്ചതുപോലെ മിസ്രയീമിങ്കലും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

English: Yea, you shall go forth from him, and yours hands upon yours head: for the LORD has rejected your confidences, and you shall not prosper in them.

Malayalam: അവിടെനിന്നും നീ തലയിൽ കൈ വെച്ചും കൊണ്ടു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോരേണ്ടിവരും; നീ ആശ്രയിച്ചവരെ യഹോവ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു ഒരു ഗുണവും വരികയില്ല.
