Isaiah 28

English: Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

Malayalam: എഫ്രയീമിലെ കുടിയാന്മാരുടെ ഡംഭകിരീടത്തിന്നും വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവരുടെ ഫലവത്തായ താഴ്വരയിലെ കുന്നിന്മേൽ വാടിപ്പോകുന്ന പുഷ്പമായ അവന്റെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള അലങ്കാരത്തിന്നും അയ്യോ, കഷ്ടം!

English: Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

Malayalam: ഇതാ, ശക്തിയും ബലവുമുള്ള ഒരുത്തൻ കർത്താവിങ്കൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു; തകർത്ത കൊടുങ്കാറ്റോടുകൂടിയ കന്മഴപോലെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന മഹാ ജലപ്രവാഹം പോലെയും അവൻ അവരെ വെറുങ്കൈകൊണ്ടു നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടും.

English: The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

Malayalam: എഫ്രയീമിലെ കുടിയാന്മാരുടെ ഡംഭകിരീടം അവൻ കാൽകൊണ്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും.

English: And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looks upon it sees, while it is yet in his hand he eats it up.

Malayalam: ഫലവത്തായ താഴ്വരയിലെ കുന്നിന്മേൽ വാടിപ്പോകുന്ന പുഷ്പമായ അവന്റെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള അലങ്കാരം ഫലശേഖരകാലത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ പഴുത്തതും കാണുന്നവൻ ഉടനെ പറിഞ്ഞുതിന്നുകളയുന്നതുമായ അത്തിപ്പഴം പോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

English: In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

Malayalam: അന്നാളിൽ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പിന്നു മഹത്വമുള്ളോരു കിരീടവും ഭംഗിയുള്ളോരു മുടിയും

English: And for a spirit of judgment to him that sits in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.

Malayalam: ന്യായവിസ്താരം കഴിപ്പാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ന്യായത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവും പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽവെച്ചു പടയെ മടക്കിക്കളയുന്നവർക്കു വീര്യബലവും ആയിരിക്കും.

English: But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they go astray in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ഇവരും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു ചാഞ്ചാടുകയും മദ്യപിച്ചു ആടിനടക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; പുരോഹിതനും പ്രവാചകനും മദ്യപാനം ചെയ്തു ചാഞ്ചാടുകയും വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു മത്തരാകയും മദ്യപിച്ചു ആടിനടക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവർ ദർശനത്തിൽ പിഴെച്ചു ന്യായവിധിയിൽ തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.

English: For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.

Malayalam: മേശകൾ ഒക്കെയും ഛർദ്ദിയും അഴുക്കുംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ശേഷിപ്പില്ല.

English: Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Malayalam: “ആർക്കാകുന്നു ഇവൻ പരിജ്ഞാനം ഉപദേശിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നതു? ആരെയാകുന്നു അവൻ പ്രസംഗം ഗ്രഹിപ്പിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നതു? പാലുകുടി മാറിയവരെയോ? മുലകുടി വിട്ടവരെയോ?

English: For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Malayalam: ചട്ടത്തിന്മേൽ ചട്ടം, ചട്ടത്തിന്മേൽ ചട്ടം; സൂത്രത്തിന്മേൽ സൂത്രം, സൂത്രത്തിന്മേൽ സൂത്രം; ഇവിടെ അല്പം, അവിടെ അല്പം” എന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു അതേ,

English: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Malayalam: വിക്കിവിക്കി പറയുന്ന അധരങ്ങളാലും അന്യഭാഷയിലും അവൻ ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും.

English: To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith all of you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Malayalam: ഇതാകുന്നു സ്വസ്ഥത; ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു സ്വസ്ഥത കൊടുപ്പിൻ; ഇതാകുന്നു വിശ്രാമം എന്നു അവർ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എങ്കിലും കേൾപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു.

English: But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ അവർ ചെന്നു പിറകോട്ടുവീണു തകർന്നു കുടുക്കിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടു പിടിപെടേണ്ടതിന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം അവർക്കു “ചട്ടത്തിന്മേൽ ചട്ടം, ചട്ടത്തിന്മേൽ ചട്ടം, സൂത്രത്തിന്മേൽ സൂത്രം, സൂത്രത്തിന്മേൽ സൂത്രം, ഇവിടെ അല്പം അവിടെ അല്പം” എന്നു ആയിരിക്കും.

English: Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ അധിപതികളായ പരിഹാസികളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ.

English: Because all of you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങൾ മരണത്തോടു സഖ്യതയും പാതാളത്തോടു ഉടമ്പടിയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രവഹിക്കുന്ന ബാധ ആക്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു ഞങ്ങളോടു അടുത്തു വരികയില്ല; ഞങ്ങൾ ഭോഷ്കിനെ ശരണമാക്കി വ്യാജത്തിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

English: Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ സീയോനിൽ ഉറപ്പുള്ള അടിസ്ഥാനമായിട്ടു ശോധനചെയ്ത കല്ലും വിലയേറിയ മൂലക്കല്ലും ആയി ഒരു അടിസ്ഥാനക്കല്ലു ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ഓടിപ്പോകയില്ല.

English: Judgment also will I apply to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ന്യായത്തെ അളവുചരടും നീതിയെ തൂക്കുകട്ടയും ആക്കിവെക്കും; കന്മഴ വ്യാജശരണത്തെ നീക്കിക്കളയും; വെള്ളം ഒളിപ്പിടത്തെ ഒഴിക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോകും.

English: And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then all of you shall be trodden down by it.

Malayalam: മരണത്തോടുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ സഖ്യത ദുർബ്ബലമാകും; പാതാളത്തോടുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉടമ്പടി നിലനിൽക്കയില്ല; പ്രവഹിക്കുന്ന ബാധ ആക്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ തകർന്നു പോകും.

English: From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Malayalam: അതു ആക്രമിക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കും; അതു രാവിലെതോറും രാവും പകലും ആക്രമിക്കും; അതിന്റെ ശ്രുതി കേൾക്കുന്ന മാത്രെക്കു നടുക്കം ഉണ്ടാകും.

English: For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

Malayalam: കിടക്ക ഒരുത്തന്നു നിവിർന്നു കിടപ്പാൻ നിളം പോരാത്തതും പുതെപ്പു പുതെപ്പാൻ വീതി പോരാത്തതും ആകും.

English: For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

Malayalam: യഹോവ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ തന്റെ ആശ്ചര്യപ്രവൃത്തിയെ തന്നേ, ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്റെ ക്രിയയെ, തന്റെ അപൂർവ്വക്രിയയെ തന്നേ നടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും പെറാസീംമലയിൽ എന്നപോലെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ഗിബെയോൻ താഴ്വരയിൽ എന്നപോലെ കോപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

English: Now therefore be all of you not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ബന്ധനങ്ങൾ മുറുകിപ്പോകാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പരിഹാസികൾ ആയിരിക്കരുതു; സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും വരുവാൻ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു സംഹാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിങ്കൽനിന്നു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Give all of you ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

Malayalam: ചെവി തന്നു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; ശ്രദ്ധവെച്ചു എന്റെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ.

English: Does the plowman plow all day to sow? does he open and break the clods of his ground?

Malayalam: വിതെപ്പാൻ ഉഴുന്നവൻ ഇടവിടാതെ ഉഴുതുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? അവൻ എല്ലായ്പോഴും നിലം കീറി കട്ട ഉടെച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

English: When he has made plain the face thereof, does he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the spelt in their place?

Malayalam: നിലം നിരപ്പാക്കീട്ടു അവൻ കരിഞ്ജീരകം വിതെക്കയും ജീരകം വിതറുകയും കോതമ്പു ഉഴവു പൊളിയിലും യവം അതിന്നുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തും ചെറുകോതമ്പു അതിന്റെ അറ്റത്തും ഇടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

English: For his God does instruct him to discretion, and does teach him.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ ദൈവം അവനെ യഥാക്രമം ഉപദേശിച്ചു പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.

Malayalam: കരിഞ്ജീരകം മെതിവണ്ടികൊണ്ടു മെതിക്കുന്നില്ല; ജീരകത്തിന്മേൽ വണ്ടിയുടെ ചക്രം ഉരുട്ടുന്നതുമില്ല; കരിഞ്ജീരകം വടികൊണ്ടും ജീരകം കോൽകൊണ്ടും തല്ലിയെടുക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

English: Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.

Malayalam: മെതിക്കയിൽ ധാന്യം ചതെച്ചുകളയാറുണ്ടോ? അവൻ അതിനെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും മെതിക്കയും വണ്ടിയുടെ ചക്രത്തെയും കുതിരകളെയും അതിന്മേൽ തെളിക്കയും ചെയ്കയില്ലല്ലോ; അവൻ അതിനെ ചതെച്ചുകളകയില്ല.

English: This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.

Malayalam: അതും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു; അവൻ ആലോചനയിൽ അതിശയവും ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ ഉൽകൃഷ്ടതയും ഉള്ളവനാകുന്നു.
