Genesis 29

English: Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് പ്രയാണം ചെയ്തു കിഴക്കരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തി.

English: And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth.

Malayalam: അവൻ വെളിൻ പ്രദേശത്തു ഒരു കിണർ കണ്ടു. അതിന്നരികെ മൂന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം കിടക്കുന്നു. ആ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു ആയിരുന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു; എന്നാൽ കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കലുള്ള കല്ലു വലുതായിരുന്നു.

English: And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.

Malayalam: ആ സ്ഥലത്തു കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ കൂടുകയും അവർ കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കൽനിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടി ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കയും കല്ലു കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായക്ക്ൽ അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തു തന്നേ തിരികെ വെക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

English: And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be all of you? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് അവരോടു: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ എവിടുത്തുകാർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ ഹാരാന്യർ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said unto them, Know all of you Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ നാഹോരിന്റെ മകനായ ലാബാനെ അറിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അറിയും എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter comes with the sheep.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവരോടു: അവൻ സുഖമായിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. സുഖം തന്നേ; അവന്റെ മകൾ റാഹേൽ അതാ ആടുകളോടു കൂടെ വരുന്നു എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water all of you the sheep, and go and feed them.

Malayalam: പകൽ ഇനിയും വളരെയുണ്ടല്ലോ; കൂട്ടം ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടുന്ന നേരമായിട്ടില്ല; ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി തീറ്റുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു

English: And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.

Malayalam: അവർ: കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുവോളം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വഹിയാ; അവർ കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കൽനിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടും; പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And while he yet spoke with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep; for she kept them.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ റാഹേൽ തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകളോടുകൂടെ വന്നു. അവളായിരുന്നു അവയെ മേയിച്ചുവന്നതു.

English: And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.

Malayalam: തന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ മകൾ റാഹേലിനെയും അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകളെയും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു കണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കൽനിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടി, അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തു.

English: And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് റാഹേലിനെ ചുംബിച്ചു പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son: and she ran and told her father.

Malayalam: താൻ അവളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരൻ എന്നും റിബെക്കയുടെ മകനെന്നും യാക്കോബ് റാഹേലിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൾ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു തന്റെ അപ്പനെ അറിയിച്ചു.

English: And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Malayalam: ലാബാൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബിന്റെ വസ്തുത കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവനെ ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്തു ചുംബിച്ചു വീട്ടിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവൻ ലാബാനോടു വിവരം ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Laban said to him, Surely you are my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

Malayalam: ലാബാൻ അവനോടു: നീ എന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ ഒരു മാസകാലം അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പാർത്തു.

English: And Laban said unto Jacob, Because you are my brother, should you therefore serve me for nothing? tell me, what shall your wages be?

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു: നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരനാകകൊണ്ടു വെറുതെ എന്നെ സേവിക്കേണമോ? നിനക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം വേണം? എന്നോടു പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ലാബാന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു: മൂത്തവൾക്കു ലേയാ എന്നും ഇളയവൾക്കു റാഹേൽ എന്നും പേർ.

English: Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

Malayalam: ലേയയുടെ കണ്ണു ശോഭ കുറഞ്ഞതായിരുന്നു; റാഹേലോ സുന്ദരിയും മനോഹരരൂപിണിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

English: And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് റാഹേലിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; നിന്റെ ഇളയമകൾ റാഹേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ ഏഴു സംവത്സരം നിന്നെ സേവിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Laban said, It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു ലാബാൻ: ഞാൻ അവളെ അന്യപുരുഷന്നുകൊടുക്കുന്നതിലും നിനക്കു തരുന്നതു നല്ലതു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാർക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ യാക്കോബ് റാഹേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഏഴു സംവത്സരം സേവ ചെയ്തു; അവൻ അവളെ സ്നേഹിക്കകൊണ്ടു അതു അവന്നു അല്പകാലം പോലെ തോന്നി.

English: And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോടു: എന്റെ സമയം തികഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുവാൻ അവളെ തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ ലാബാൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തെ ജനങ്ങളെ എല്ലാം ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി ഒരു വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു.

English: And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ രാത്രിയിൽ അവൻ തന്റെ മകൾ ലേയയെ കൂട്ടി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു പോയി ആക്കി; അവൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

English: And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Malayalam: ലാബാൻ തന്റെ മകൾ ലേയെക്കു തന്റെ ദാസി സില്പയെ ദാസിയായി കൊടുത്തു.

English: And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this you have done unto me? did not I serve with you for Rachel? wherefore then have you misled me?

Malayalam: നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോൾ അതു ലേയാ എന്നു കണ്ടു അവൻ ലാബാനോടു: നീ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? റാഹേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി അല്ലയോ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചതു? നീ എന്തിന്നു എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു ലാബാൻ: മൂത്തവൾക്കു മുമ്പെ ഇളയവളെ കൊടുക്ക ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദിക്കിൽ നടപ്പില്ല.

English: Fulfill her week, and we will give you this also for the service which you shall serve with me yet seven other years.

Malayalam: ഇവളുടെ ആഴ്ചവട്ടം നിവർത്തിക്ക; എന്നാൽ നീ ഇനിയും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന സേവെക്കു വേണ്ടി ഞങ്ങൾ അവളെയും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു, അവളുടെ ആഴ്ചവട്ടം നിവർത്തിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ മകൾ റാഹേലിനെയും അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.

English: And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.

Malayalam: തന്റെ മകൾ റാഹേലിന്നു ലാബാൻ തന്റെ ദാസി ബിൽഹയെ ദാസിയായി കൊടുത്തു.

English: And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Malayalam: അവൻ റാഹേലിന്റെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു; റാഹേലിനെ ലേയയെക്കാൾ അധികം സ്നേഹിച്ചു; പിന്നെയും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ സേവചെയ്തു.

English: And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.

Malayalam: ലേയാ അനിഷ്ടയെന്നു യഹോവ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവളുടെ ഗർഭത്തെ തുറന്നു; റാഹേലോ മച്ചിയായിരുന്നു.

English: And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD has looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

Malayalam: ലേയാ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: യഹോവ എന്റെ സങ്കടം കണ്ടു; ഇപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ഭർത്താവു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൾ അവന്നു രൂബേൻ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

English: And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD has heard I was hated, he has therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

Malayalam: അവൾ പിന്നെയും ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: ഞാൻ അനിഷ ്ടഎന്നു യഹോവ കേട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ഇവനെയും എനിക്കു തന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ശിമെയോൻ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

English: And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Malayalam: അവൾ പിന്നെയും ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ സമയം എന്റെ ഭർത്താവു എന്നോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഞാൻ അവന്നു മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെ പ്രസവിച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൾ അവന്നു ലേവി എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

English: And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

Malayalam: അവൾ പിന്നെയും ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിക്കും എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൾ അവന്നു യെഹൂദാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. പിന്നെ അവൾക്കു പ്രസവം നിന്നു.
