Exodus 21

English: Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them.

Malayalam: അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ വെക്കേണ്ടുന്ന ന്യായങ്ങളാവിതു:

English: If you buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

Malayalam: ഒരു എബ്രായദാസനെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയാൽ ആറു സംവത്സരം സേവിച്ചിട്ടു ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

English: If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.

Malayalam: ഏകനായി വന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഏകനായി പോകട്ടെ; അവന്നു ഭാര്യയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഭാര്യയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോകട്ടെ.

English: If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയെ കൊടുക്കയും അവൾ അവന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ പ്രസവിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഭാര്യയും മക്കളും യജമാനന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം; അവൻ ഏകനായി പോകേണം.

English: And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ദാസൻ: ഞാൻ എന്റെ യജമാനനെയും എന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പോകയില്ല എന്നു തീർത്തു പറഞ്ഞാൽ

English: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

Malayalam: യജമാനൻ അവനെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു കതകിന്റെയോ കട്ടളക്കാലിന്റെയോ അടുക്കൽ നിറുത്തീട്ടു സൂചികൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാതു കുത്തി തുളക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്നേക്കും അവന്നു ദാസനായിരിക്കേണം.

English: And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ പുത്രിയെ ദാസിയായി വിറ്റാൽ അവൾ ദാസന്മാർ പോകുന്നതു പോലെ പോകരുതു.

English: If she please not her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he has dealt deceitfully with her.

Malayalam: അവളെ തനിക്കു സംബന്ധത്തിന്നു നിയമിച്ച യജമാനന്നു അവളെ ബോധിക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ അവളെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാൻ അവൻ അനുവദിക്കേണം; അവളെ ചതിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യജാതിക്കു വിറ്റുകളവാൻ അവന്നു അധികാരമില്ല.

English: And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവളെ തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു നിയമിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ പുത്രിമാരുടെ ന്യായത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം അവളോടു പെരുമാറേണം.

English: If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

Malayalam: അവൻ മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചാൽ ഇവളുടെ ഉപജീവനവും ഉടുപ്പും വിവാഹമുറയും കുറെക്കരുതു.

English: And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.

Malayalam: ഈ മൂന്നു കാര്യവും അവൻ അവൾക്കു ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാൽ അവളെ പണം വാങ്ങാതെ വെറുതെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

English: He that strikes a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

Malayalam: ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അടിച്ചുകൊല്ലുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

English: And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.

Malayalam: അവൻ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടാതെ അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യാൽ സംഭവിപ്പാൻ ദൈവം സംഗതിവരുത്തിയതായാൽ അവൻ ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലം ഞാൻ നിയമിക്കും.

English: But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from mine altar, that he may die.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൽ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടി കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിച്ചു കൊന്നതെങ്കിൽ അവൻ മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്നും പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.

English: And he that strikes his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

Malayalam: തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അടിക്കുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

English: And he that steals a man, and sells him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരാളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ വിൽക്കയാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ കൈവശം അവനെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയാകട്ടെ ചെയ്താൽ അവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

English: And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

Malayalam: തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ശപിക്കുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

English: And if men strive together, and one strike another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keeps his bed:

Malayalam: മനുഷ്യർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റവനെ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടോ മുഷ്ടികൊണ്ടോ കുത്തിയതിനാൽ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോകാതെ കിടപ്പിലാകയും

English: If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that stroke him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.

Malayalam: പിന്നെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു വടി ഊന്നി വെളിയിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ കുത്തിയവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; എങ്കിലും അവൻ അവന്റെ മിനക്കേടിന്നുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു അവനെ നല്ലവണ്ണം ചികിത്സിപ്പിക്കേണം.

English: And if a man strike his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ തൽക്ഷണം മരിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം വടികൊണ്ടു അടിച്ചാൽ അവനെ നിശ്ചയമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കേണം.

English: Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.

Malayalam: എങ്കിലും അവൻ ഒന്നു രണ്ടു ദിവസം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാൽ അവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; അവൻ അവന്റെ മുതലല്ലോ.

English: If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

Malayalam: മനുഷ്യർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഗർഭിണിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ അടിച്ചതിനാൽ ഗർഭം അലസിയതല്ലാതെ അവൾക്കു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷവും വന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അടിച്ചവൻ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഭർത്താവു ചുമത്തുന്ന പിഴ കൊടുക്കേണം; ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ വിധിക്കുമ്പോലെ അവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.

English: And if any mischief follow, then you shall give life for life,

Malayalam: മറ്റു ദോഷം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.

English: Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

Malayalam: കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു; പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു; കൈക്കു പകരം കൈ; കാലിന്നു പകരം കാൽ;

English: Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Malayalam: പൊള്ളലിന്നു പകരം പൊള്ളൽ; മുറിവിന്നു പകരം മുറിവു; തിണർപ്പിന്നു പകരം തിണർപ്പു.

English: And if a man strike the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ അടിച്ചു തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ കണ്ണു കളഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

English: And if he strike out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.

Malayalam: അവൻ തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ പല്ലുഅടിച്ചു തകർത്താൽ അവൻ പല്ലിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

English: If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.

Malayalam: ഒരു കാള ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കുത്തിക്കൊന്നാൽ ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; കാളയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനോ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൻ.

English: But if the ox were known to push with his horn in time past, and it has been testified to his owner, and he has not kept him in, but that he has killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതായും ഉടമസ്ഥൻ അതു അറിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കെ അവൻ അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അതു ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാൽ ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

English: If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.

Malayalam: ഉദ്ധാരണ ദ്രവ്യം അവന്റെ മോൽ ചുമത്തിയാൽ തന്റെ ജീവന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിന്നായി തന്റെ മേൽ ചുമത്തിയതു ഒക്കെയും അവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.

English: Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.

Malayalam: അതു ഒരു ബാലനെ കുത്തിയാലും ഒരു ബാലയെ കുത്തിയാലും ഈ ന്യായപ്രകാരം അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം.

English: If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

Malayalam: കാള ഒരു ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ കുത്തിയാൽ അവൻ അവരുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥന്നു മുപ്പതു ശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളി കൊടുക്കേണം; കാളയെ കൊന്നുകളകയും വേണം.

English: And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരു കുഴി തുറന്നുവെക്കുകയോ കുഴി കുഴിച്ചു അതിനെ മൂടാതിരിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടു അതിൽ ഒരു കാളയോ കഴുതയോ വീണാൽ,

English: The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.

Malayalam: കുഴിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ വലികൊടുത്തു അതിന്റെ യജമാനന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തേണം; എന്നാൽ ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.

English: And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തന്റെ കാള മറ്റൊരുത്തന്റെ കാളയെ കുത്തീട്ടു അതു ചത്തുപോയാൽ അവർ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന കാളയെ വിറ്റു അതിന്റെ വില പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം; ചത്തുപോയതിനെയും പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം.

English: Or if it be known that the ox has used to push in time past, and his owner has not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.

Malayalam: അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഉടമസ്ഥൻ അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ കാളെക്കു പകരം കാളയെ കൊടുക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.
