2 Samuel 5

English: Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: and the LORD said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be a captain over Israel.

Malayalam: മുമ്പു ശൌൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായിരുന്നപ്പോഴും നായകനായി യിസ്രായേലിനെ നടത്തിയതു നീ ആയിരുന്നു. നീ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മേയ്ക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു ഹെബ്രോനിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അവരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു; അവർ ദാവീദിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

English: David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

English: In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

Malayalam: അവൻ ഹെബ്രോനിൽ യെഹൂദെക്കു ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ആറു മാസവും യെരൂശലേമിൽ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും മുപ്പത്തിമൂന്നു സംവത്സരവും രാജാവായി വാണു.

English: And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spoke unto David, saying, Except you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here: thinking, David cannot come in here.

Malayalam: രാജാവും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ആ ദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളായ യെബൂസ്യരുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു. ദാവീദിന്നു അവിടെ കടപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ലെന്നുവെച്ചു അവർ ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ ഇവിടെ കടക്കയില്ല; നിന്നെ തടുപ്പാൻ കുരുടരും മുടന്തരും മതി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

Malayalam: എന്നിട്ടും ദാവീദ് സീയോൻ കോട്ട പിടിച്ചു; അതു തന്നെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരം.

English: And David said on that day, Whosoever gets up to the watercourse, and strikes the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

Malayalam: അന്നു ദാവീദ്: ആരെങ്കിലും യെബൂസ്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചാൽ അവൻ നീർപ്പാത്തിയിൽകൂടി കയറി ദാവീദിന്നു വെറുപ്പായുള്ള മുടന്തരെയും കുരുടരെയും പിടിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതു കൊണ്ടു കുരുടരും മുടന്തരും വീട്ടിൽ വരരുതു എന്നൊരു ചൊല്ലു നടപ്പായി.

English: So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് കോട്ടയിൽ വസിച്ചു, അതിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരമെന്നു പേരിട്ടു. ദാവീദ് അതിനെ മില്ലോ തുടങ്ങി ചുറ്റിലും ഉള്ളിലോട്ടും പണിതുറപ്പിച്ചു.

English: And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

Malayalam: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദ് മേല്ക്കുമേൽ പ്രബലനായിത്തീർന്നു.

English: And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and stone workers: and they built David an house.

Malayalam: സോർരാജാവായ ഹീരാം ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെയും ദേവദാരുക്കളെയും ആശാരികളെയും കല്പണിക്കാരെയും അയച്ചു; അവർ ദാവീദിന്നു ഒരു അരമന പണിതു.

English: And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിൽ തന്നെ രാജാവായി സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അവന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേൽ നിമിത്തം തന്റെ രാജത്വം ഉന്നതമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നു ദാവീദ് അറിഞ്ഞു.

English: And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

Malayalam: ഹെബ്രോനിൽനിന്നു വന്നശേഷം ദാവീദ് യെരൂശലേമിൽവെച്ചു അധികം വെപ്പാട്ടികളെയും ഭാര്യമാരെയും പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്നു പിന്നെയും പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ജനിച്ചു.

English: And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Malayalam: യെരൂശലേമിൽവെച്ചു അവന്നു ജനിച്ചവരുടെ പേരുകളാവിതു: ശമ്മൂവ, ശോബാബ്, നാഥാൻ, ശലോമോൻ,

English: Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Malayalam: യിബ്ഹാർ, എലിശൂവ, നേഫെഗ്, യാഫീയ,

English: And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

Malayalam: എലീശാമാ, എല്യാദാവു, എലീഫേലെത്ത്,

English: But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ദാവീദിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു എന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഒക്കെയും ദാവീദിനെ പിടിപ്പാൻ വന്നു; ദാവീദ് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ കടന്നു പാർത്തു.

English: The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Malayalam: ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ വന്നു രെഫായീം താഴ്വരയിൽ പരന്നു.

English: And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? will you deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into yours hand.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് യഹോവയോടു: ഞാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടേണമോ? അവരെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. പുറപ്പെടുക; ഞാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ ദാവീദിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

English: And David came to Baalperazim, and David stroke them there, and said, The LORD has broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ബാൽ-പെരാസീമിൽ ചെന്നു; അവിടെവെച്ചു ദാവീദ് അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു; വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടംപോലെ യഹോവ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ബാൽ-പെരാസീം എന്നു പേർ പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.

English: And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

Malayalam: അവിടെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഇട്ടേച്ചുപോയി; ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും അവയെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോന്നു.

English: And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Malayalam: ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ പിന്നെയും വന്നു രെഫായീംതാഴ്വരിയിൽ പരന്നു.

English: And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, You shall not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry trees.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് യഹോവയോടു ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ: നീ നേരെ ചെല്ലാതെ അവരുടെ പിമ്പുറത്തുകൂടി വളഞ്ഞുചെന്നു ബാഖാവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾക്കു എതിരെവെച്ചു അവരെ നേരിടുക.

English: And let it be, when you hear the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall bestir yourself: for then shall the LORD go out before you, to strike the host of the Philistines.

Malayalam: ബാഖാവൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ അഗ്രങ്ങളിൽകൂടി അണിനടക്കുന്ന ഒച്ചപോലെ കേൾക്കും; അപ്പോൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുക; ഫെലിസ്ത്യസൈന്യത്തെ തോല്പിപ്പാൻ യഹോവ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

English: And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and stroke the Philistines from Geba until you come to Gazer.

Malayalam: യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തു, ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ഗേബമുതൽ ഗേസെർവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.
