2 Samuel 2

English: And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് യഹോവയോടു: ഞാൻ യെഹൂദ്യനഗരങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിലേക്കു ചെല്ലേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യഹോവ അവനോടു: ചെല്ലുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. ഞാൻ എവിടേക്കു ചെല്ലേണ്ടു എന്നു ദാവീദ് ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്കു എന്നു അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

English: So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal's wife the Carmelite.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് യിസ്രെയേൽക്കാരത്തി അഹീനോവം, കർമ്മേല്യൻ നാബാലിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്ന അബീഗയിൽ എന്നീ രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാരുമായി അവിടേക്കു ചെന്നു.

English: And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആളുകളെ ഒക്കെയും കുടുംബസഹിതം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവർ ഹെബ്രോന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു.

English: And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാർ വന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ദാവീദിനെ യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

English: And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be all of you of the LORD, that all of you have showed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.

Malayalam: ഗിലെയാദിലെ യാബേശ് നിവാസികൾ ആയിരുന്നു ശൌലിനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തതു എന്നു ദാവീദിന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടി. ദാവീദ്, ഗിലെയാദിലെ യാബേശ് നിവാസികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനായ ശൌലിനോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ദയകാണിച്ചു അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയാൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ.

English: And now the LORD show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because all of you have done this thing.

Malayalam: യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും കാണിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാനും നിങ്ങൾക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്യും.

English: Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be all of you valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു ശൂരന്മാരായിരിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനായ ശൌൽ മരിച്ചുപോയല്ലോ; യെഹൂദാഗൃഹം എന്നെ തങ്ങൾക്കു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

English: But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ശൌലിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ നേരിന്റെ മകൻ അബ്നേർ ശൌലിന്റെ മകനായ ഈശ്-ബോശെത്തിനെ മഹനയീമിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി,

English: And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

Malayalam: അവനെ ഗിലെയാദ്, അശൂരി, യിസ്രെയേൽ, എഫ്രയീം, ബെന്യാമീൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്യർക്കും രാജാവാക്കി,

English: Ishbosheth Saul's son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

Malayalam: ശൌലിന്റെ മകനായ ഈശ്-ബോശെത്ത് യിസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവായപ്പോൾ അവന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു. യെഹൂദാഗൃഹമോ ദാവീദിനോടു ചേർന്നുനിന്നു.

English: And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ഹെബ്രോനിൽ യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന്നു രാജാവായിരുന്ന കാലം ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ആറു മാസവും തന്നേ.

English: And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

Malayalam: നേരിന്റെ മകൻ അബ്നേരും ശൌലിന്റെ മകനായ ഈശ്-ബേശെത്തിന്റെ ചേവകരും മഹനയീമിൽനിന്നു ഗിബെയോനിലേക്കു വന്നു.

English: And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ യോവാബും ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഗിബെയോനിലെ കുളത്തിന്നരികെവെച്ചു അവരെ നേരിട്ടു; അവർ കുളത്തിന്റെ ഇപ്പുറത്തും മറ്റേവർ കുളത്തിന്റെ അപ്പുറത്തും ഇരുന്നു.

English: And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.

Malayalam: അബ്നേർ യോവാബിനോടു: ബാല്യക്കാർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നമ്മുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഒന്നു കളിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെയാകട്ടെ എന്നു യോവാബും പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ബെന്യാമീന്യരുടെയും ശൌലിന്റെ മകനായ ഈശ്-ബോശെത്തിന്റെയും ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരും ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകരിൽ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരും എണ്ണമൊത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു തമ്മിൽ അടുത്തു.

English: And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon.

Malayalam: ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ എതിരാളിയെ മുടിക്കു പിടിച്ചു വിലാപ്പുറത്തു വാൾ കുത്തിക്കടത്തി ഒരുമിച്ചു വീണു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഗിബെയോനിലെ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഹെൽക്കത്ത്-ഹസ്സൂരീം എന്നു പേരായി.

English: And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.

Malayalam: അന്നു യുദ്ധം ഏറ്റവും കഠിനമായി, അബ്നേരും യിസ്രായേല്യരും ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകരോടു തോറ്റുപോയി.

English: And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

Malayalam: അവിടെ യോവാബ്, അബീശായി, അസാഹേൽ ഇങ്ങനെ സെരൂയയുടെ മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അസാഹേൽ കാട്ടുകലയെപ്പോലെ ശീഘ്രഗാമി ആയിരുന്നു.

English: And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.

Malayalam: അസാഹേൽ അബ്നേരിനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; അബ്നേരിനെ പിന്തുടരുന്നതിൽ വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ മാറിയില്ല.

English: Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Are you Asahel? And he answered, I am.

Malayalam: അബ്നേർ പിറകോട്ടു നോക്കി: നീ അസാഹേലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അതേ എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Abner said to him, Turn you aside to your right hand or to your left, and lay you hold on one of the young men, and take you his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.

Malayalam: അബ്നേർ അവനോടു: നീ വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ തിരിഞ്ഞു, ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ പിടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ആയുധവർഗ്ഗം എടുത്തുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എങ്കിലും അസാഹേലിന്നു അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ മനസ്സായില്ല.

English: And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn you aside from following me: wherefore should I strike you to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab your brother?

Malayalam: അബ്നേർ അസാഹേലിനോടു: എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോക; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വെട്ടിവീഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? പിന്നെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോവാബിന്റെ മുഖത്തു എങ്ങനെ നോക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nevertheless he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear stroke him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

Malayalam: എന്നാറെയും വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ അവന്നു മനസ്സായില്ല; അബ്നേർ അവനെ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു പിറകോട്ടു വയറ്റത്തു കുത്തി; കുന്തം മറുവശത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ അവിടെ തന്നെ വീണു മരിച്ചു. അസാഹേൽ മരിച്ചുകിടന്നേടത്തു വന്നവർ ഒക്കെയും നിന്നുപോയി.

English: Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lies before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

Malayalam: യോവാബും അബീശായിയും അബ്നോരിനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; അവർ ഗിബെയോൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ വഴിയരികെ ഗീഹിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള അമ്മാക്കുന്നിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചു.

English: And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.

Malayalam: ബെന്യാമീന്യർ അബ്നേരിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒരേ കൂട്ടമായി കൂടി ഒരു കുന്നിൻ മുകളിൽനിന്നു.

English: Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? know you not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, before you bid the people return from following their brethren?

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ അബ്നേർ യോവാബിനോടു: വാൾ എന്നും സംഹരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണമോ? ഒടുവിൽ കൈപ്പുണ്ടാകുമെന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? സഹോരദന്മാരെ പിന്തുടരുന്നതു മതിയാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ജനത്തോടു കല്പിപ്പാൻ നീ എത്രത്തോളം താമസിക്കും എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Joab said, As God lives, unless you had spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു യോവാബ്: ദൈവത്താണ, നീ പറഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കിൽ ജനം രാവിലെ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ പിന്തുടരാതെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.

Malayalam: ഉടനെ യോവാബ് കാഹളം ഊതിച്ചു, ജനം ഒക്കെയും നിന്നു, യിസ്രായേലിനെ പിന്തുടർന്നില്ല പൊരുതതുമില്ല.

English: And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

Malayalam: അബ്നേരും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും അന്നു രാത്രിമുഴുവനും അരാബയിൽകൂടി നടന്നു യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു ബിത്രോനിൽകൂടി ചെന്നു മഹനയീമിൽ എത്തി.

English: And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.

Malayalam: യോവാബും അബ്നേരിനെ പിന്തുടരുന്നതു വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി, ജനത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവരകരിൽ പത്തൊമ്പതുപേരും അസാഹേലും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

English: But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner's men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകർ ബെന്യാമീന്യരെയും അബ്നേരിന്റെ ആളുകളെയും തോല്പിക്കയും അവരിൽ മുന്നൂറ്ററുപതുപേരെ സംഹരിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.

English: And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.

Malayalam: അസാഹേലിനെ അവർ എടുത്തു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ അവന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; യോവാബും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും രാത്രി മുഴുവനും നടന്നു പുലർച്ചെക്കു ഹെബ്രോനിൽ എത്തി
