2 Samuel 13

English: And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

Malayalam: അതിന്റെ ശേഷം സംഭവിച്ചതു: ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ള ഒരു സഹോദരി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾക്കു താമാർ എന്നു പേർ; ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ അമ്നോന്നു അവളിൽ പ്രേമം ജനിച്ചു.

English: And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.

Malayalam: തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ താമാർ നിമിത്തം മാൽ മുഴുത്തിട്ടു അമ്നോൻ രോഗിയായ്തീർന്നു. അവൾ കന്യകയാകയാൽ അവളോടു വല്ലതും ചെയ്‍വാൻ അമ്നോന്നു പ്രയാസം തോന്നി.

English: But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtle man.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അമ്നോന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠനായ ശിമെയയുടെ മകനായി യോനാദാബ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു സ്നേഹിതൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; യോനാദാബ് വലിയ ഉപായി ആയിരുന്നു.

English: And he said unto him, Why are you, being the king's son, lean from day to day? will you not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവനോടു: നീ നാൾക്കുനാൾ ഇങ്ങനെ ക്ഷീണിച്ചുവരുന്നതു എന്തു, രാജകുമാരാ? എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞുകൂടയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അമ്നോൻ അവനോടു എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ താമാരിൽ എനിക്കു പ്രേമം ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jonadab said unto him, Lay you down on your bed, and make yourself sick: and when your father comes to see you, say unto him, I pray you, let my sister Tamar come, and give me food, and dress the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

Malayalam: യോനാദാബ് അവനോടു: നീ രോഗം നടിച്ചു കിടക്കയിൽ കിടന്നുകൊൾക; നിന്നെ കാണ്മാൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ വരുമ്പോൾ നീ അവനോടു: എന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ താമാർ വന്നു എന്നെ ഒന്നു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പിക്കേണം; അവളുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വാങ്ങി ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ കാൺകെ അവൾ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ ഭക്ഷണം ഒരുക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray you, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ അമ്നോൻ രോഗം നടിച്ചു കിടന്നു; രാജാവു അവനെ കാണ്മാൻ വന്നപ്പോൾ അമ്നോൻ രാജാവിനോടു: എന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ താമാർ വന്നു ഞാൻ അവളുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു എടുത്തു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വടകളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to your brother Amnon's house, and dress him food.

Malayalam: ഉടനെ ദാവീദ് അരമനയിൽ താമാരിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അമ്നോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽചെന്നു അവന്നു ഭക്ഷണം ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊടുക്ക എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

English: So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

Malayalam: താമാർ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അമ്നോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു; അവൻ കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അവൾ മാവു എടുത്തു കുഴച്ചു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു തന്നെ വടകളായി ചുട്ടു.

English: And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.

Malayalam: ഉരുളിയോടെ എടുത്തു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വിളമ്പി; എന്നാൽ ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ അവന്നു ഇഷ്ടമായില്ല. എല്ലവരെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കുവിൻ എന്നു അമ്നോൻ പറഞ്ഞു. എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു പുറത്തുപോയി.

English: And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the food into the chamber, that I may eat of yours hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ അമ്നോൻ താമാരിനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങി ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഭക്ഷണം ഉൾമുറിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. താമാർ താൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ വടളെ എടുത്തു ഉൾമുറിയിൽ സഹോദരനായ അമ്നോന്റെ അടുക്കൽകൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

English: And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.

Malayalam: അവൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൾ അവയെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവളെ പിടിച്ചു അവളോടു: സഹോദരീ, വന്നു എന്നോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not you this folly.

Malayalam: അവൾ അവനോടു: എന്റെ സഹോദരാ, അരുതേ; എന്നെ അവമാനിക്കരുതേ; യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഇതു കൊള്ളരുതാത്തതല്ലൊ; ഈ വഷളത്വം ചെയ്യരുതെ.

English: And I, where shall I cause my shame to go? and as for you, you shall be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray you, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from you.

Malayalam: എന്റെ അവമാനം ഞാൻ എവിടെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെക്കും? നീയും യിസ്രായേലിൽ വഷളന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആയിപ്പോകുമല്ലോ. നീ രാജാവിനോടു പറക അവൻ എന്നെ നിനക്കു തരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nevertheless he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അവൻ, അവളുടെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ, അവളെക്കാൾ ബലമുള്ളവനാകകൊണ്ടു ബലാൽക്കാരം ചെയ്തു അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു.

English: Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ അമ്നോൻ അവളെ അത്യന്തം വെറുത്തു; അവൻ അവളെ സ്നേഹിച്ച സ്നേഹത്തെക്കാൾ അവളെ വെറുത്ത വെറുപ്പു വലുതായിരുന്നു. എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോക എന്നു അമ്നോൻ അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു;

English: And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that you did unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.

Malayalam: അവൾ അവനോടു: അങ്ങനെയരുതു; നീ എന്നോടു ചെയ്ത മറ്റെ ദോഷത്തെക്കാൾ എന്നെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കളയുന്ന ഈ ദോഷം ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ അവന്നു അവളുടെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പാൻ മനസ്സായില്ല.

English: Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

Malayalam: അവൻ തനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യുന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടു: ഇവളെ ഇവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി വാതിൽ അടെച്ചുകളക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

Malayalam: അവൾ നിലയങ്കിധരിച്ചിരിന്നു; രാജകുമാരികളായ കന്യകമാർ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്ക പതിവായിരുന്നു. ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അവളെ പുറത്തിറക്കി വാതിൽ അടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

English: And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ താമാർ തലയിൽ വെണ്ണീർ വാരിയിട്ടു താൻ ധരിച്ചിരുന്ന നിലയങ്കി കീറി, തലയിൽ കയ്യുംവെച്ചു നിലവിളിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു നടന്നു.

English: And Absalom her brother said unto her, Has Amnon your brother been with you? but hold now your peace, my sister: he is your brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.

Malayalam: അവളുടെ സഹോദരനായ അബ്ശാലോം അവളോടു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അമ്നോൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആയിരുന്നുവോ? ആകട്ടെ സഹോദരീ, മിണ്ടാതിരിക്ക; അവൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനല്ലോ; ഈ കാര്യം മനസ്സിൽ വെക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ താമാർ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഏകാകിയായി പാർത്തു.

English: But when king David heard of all these things, he was very angry.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു ഈ കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ കോപം ഏറ്റവും ജ്വലിച്ചു.

English: And Absalom spoke unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം അമ്നോനോടു ഗുണമോ ദോഷമോ ഒന്നും സംസാരിച്ചില്ല; തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ താമാരിനെ അമ്നോൻ അവമാനിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അബ്ശാലോം അവനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു.

English: And it came to pass after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baalhazor, which is beside Ephraim: and Absalom invited all the king's sons.

Malayalam: രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു എഫ്രയീമിന്നു സമിപത്തുള്ള ബാൽഹാസോരിൽ ആടുകളെ രോമം കത്രിക്കുന്ന അടിയന്തരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അബ്ശാലോം രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു.

English: And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, your servant has sheepshearers; let the king, I plead to you, and his servants go with your servant.

Malayalam: അബ്ശാലോം രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു: അടിയന്നു ആടുകളെ രോമം കത്രിക്കുന്ന അടിയന്തരം ഉണ്ടു; രാജാവും ഭൃത്യന്മാരും അടിയനോടുകൂടെ വരേണമേ എന്നപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

English: And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto you. And he pressed him: nevertheless he would not go, but blessed him.

Malayalam: രാജാവു അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: വേണ്ടാ മകനേ, ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും വന്നാൽ നിനക്കു ഭാരമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും പോകുവാൻ മനസ്സാകാതെ അവൻ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

English: Then said Absalom, If not, I pray you, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with you?

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം: അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ സഹോദരൻ അമ്നോൻ ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. രാജാവു അവനോടു: അവൻ പോരുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: But Absalom pressed him, that he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.

Malayalam: എങ്കിലും അബ്ശാലോം നിർബന്ധിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ അമ്നോനെയും രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു.

English: Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark all of you now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Strike Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരോടു: നോക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ; അമ്നോൻ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ആനന്ദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നേരം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു: അമ്നോനെ അടിച്ചുകൊല്ലുവിൻ എന്നു പറയുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവിൻ; ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ഞാനല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു? നിങ്ങൾ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു ശൂരന്മാരായിരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and every man got him up upon his mule, and fled.

Malayalam: അബ്ശാലോം കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാർ അമ്നോനോടു ചെയ്തു. അപ്പോൾ രാജകുമാരന്മാരൊക്കെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു താന്താന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഓടിപ്പോയി.

English: And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom has slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left.

Malayalam: അവർ വഴിയിൽ ആയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ: അബ്ശാലോം രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല എന്നു ദാവീദിന്നു വർത്തമാനം എത്തി.

English: Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വസ്ത്രംകീറി നിലത്തു കിടന്നു; അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും വസ്ത്രം കീറി അരികെ നിന്നു.

English: And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠനായ ശിമെയയുടെ മകനായ യോനാദാബ് പറഞ്ഞതു: അവർ രാജകുമാരന്മാരായ യുവാക്കളെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു യജമാനൻ വിചാരിക്കരുതു; അമ്നോൻ മാത്രമെ മരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളു; തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ താമാരിനെ അവൻ അവമാനിച്ച നാൾമുതൽ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ മുഖത്തു ഈ നിർണ്ണയം കാണ്മാൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king's sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ രാജകുമാരന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നുള്ള വർത്തമാനം യജമാനനായ രാജാവു ഗണ്യമാക്കരുതേ; അമ്നോൻ മാത്രമേ മരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള.

English: But Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came much people by the way of the hill side behind him.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം ഓടിപ്പോയി. കാവൽനിന്നിരുന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരൻ തല ഉയർത്തിനോക്കിയപ്പോൾ വളരെ ജനം അവന്റെ പിമ്പിലുള്ള മലഞ്ചരിവുവഴിയായി വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

English: And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king's sons come: as your servant said, so it is.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ യോനാദാബ് രാജാവിനോടു: ഇതാ, രാജകുമാരന്മാർ വരുന്നു; അടിയന്റെ വാക്കു ഒത്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept: and the king also and all his servants wept very sore.

Malayalam: അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചു തീർന്നപ്പോഴെക്കു രാജകുമാരന്മാർ വന്നു ഉറക്കെ കരഞ്ഞു. രാജാവും സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും വാവിട്ടുകരഞ്ഞു.

English: But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം ഓടിപ്പോയി അമ്മീഹൂദിന്റെ മകനായി ഗെശൂർരാജാവായ താല്മായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു. ദാവീദോ ഇടവിടാതെ തന്റെ മകനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: So Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ അബ്ശാലോം ഗെശൂരിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.

English: And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവു അബ്ശാലോമിനെ കാണ്മാൻ വാഞ്ഛിച്ചു; മരിച്ചുപോയ അമ്നോനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ദുഃഖത്തിന്നു ആശ്വാസം വന്നിരുന്നു.
