യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ലെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നെങ്കിൽ നദിക്കക്കരെവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ സേവിച്ച ദേവന്മാരെയോ നിങ്ങൾ പാർത്തുവരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ അമോർയ്യരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെയോ ആരെ സേവിക്കും എന്നു ഇന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ. ഞാനും എന്റെ കുടുംബവുമോ, ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കും.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom all of you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land all of you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

യഹോവ വീടു പണിയാതിരുന്നാൽ പണിയുന്നവർ വൃഥാ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ പട്ടണം കാക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ കാവൽക്കാരൻ വൃഥാ ജാഗരിക്കുന്നു.

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.

ബാലൻ നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയിൽ അവനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്ക; അവൻ വൃദ്ധനായാലും അതു വിട്ടുമാറുകയില്ല.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

മക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ കർത്താവിൽ അനുസരിപ്പിൻ; അതു ന്യായമല്ലോ.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

പിതാക്കന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ കോപിപ്പിക്കാതെ കർത്താവിന്റെ ബാലശിക്ഷയിലും പാത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിലും പോറ്റി വളർത്തുവിൻ.

And, all of you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

മക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ സകലത്തിലും അനുസരിപ്പിൻ. ഇതു കർത്താവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ കണ്ടാൽ പ്രസാദകരമല്ലോ.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

പിതാക്കന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾ അധൈര്യപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ കോപിപ്പിക്കരുതു.

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

തനിക്കുള്ളവർക്കും പ്രത്യേകം സ്വന്ത കുടുംബക്കാർക്കും വേണ്ടി കരുതാത്തവൻ വിശ്വാസം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു അവിശ്വാസിയെക്കാൾ അധമനായിരിക്കുന്നു.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

മക്കളുടെ മക്കൾ വൃദ്ധന്മാർക്കും കിരീടമാകുന്നു; മക്കളുടെ മഹത്വം അവരുടെ അപ്പന്മാർ തന്നേ.

Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

കർത്താവായ യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്ക; എന്നാൽ നീയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബവും രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.
